The power plant uses a 55 metre height of fall from the Osebu reservoir to Lake Holbuvatnet, which in turn is the intake reservoir for Aura power station.
Lake Aursjøen is the main reservoir for both Aura and Osbu power stations, and is regulated between 856 and 828 metres above sea level, and is located partly in the municipality of Lesja.
